Progression of Covid 19
A study from the University of Southern California was able to determine that COVID-19 symptoms often start in a certain order.
According to the study, while influenza typically begins with a cough,
The first symptom of COVID-19 is fever.
However, physicians working with patients with COVID-19 said that in their experience the symptoms aren’t as predictable.
The symptoms of COVID-19, including fever and cough, are similar to the symptoms in a host of other common diseases, including the seasonal flu.

With flu season in full swing, how can you tell if a fever is a symptom of the flu or COVID-19? A new study has shed light on how COVID-19 symptoms present, which may help people trying to figure out if their cough is just a cough or something worse.

The research from the University of Southern California (USC) was able to determine that COVID-19 symptoms often start in a certain order.

This finding might help people with COVID-19 self-isolate and get treatment sooner, which could significantly improve patient outcomes.
According to the study’s findings, this is the order of symptoms that people with COVID-19 can experience:

fever
cough and muscle pain
nausea or vomiting
diarrhea
In general, while fever is usually the most commonly described initial symptom of COVID-19 infection,
The reality is more variable
Some patients may present only with loss of taste or smell and otherwise feel well
Some with COVID-toes,’ or chilblains [reddish-blue discoloration]
Some presented with malaise, headache, and dizziness, that in some ways resemble the symptoms of stroke, but without fever, cough, or any evidence of upper respiratory symptoms.
Some with chest pain, devoid of any respiratory symptoms.
The onset of nausea, vomiting, and diarrhea after onset of respiratory symptoms such as fever and cough may also suggest that a person may have COVID-19.
Why the body fevers
You get a fever because your body is trying to kill the virus or bacteria that caused the infection. Most of those bacteria and viruses do well when your body is at your normal temperature. But if you have a fever, it is harder for them to survive. Fever also activates your body's immune system.
Ways to Strengthen your Immune System
Drink plenty of fluids. Water is the best. Many of us have heard that we should drink eight, eight-ounce glasses of water per day. That can be hard to do. Instead, try drinking a glass of water when you wake up to start your day off right. Your body is dehydrated from sleeping.

Sleep is a regenerative process for your body. When you are sleep deprived your natural immune cells, or T cells, go down, and inflammatory cytokines (inflammation cells) go up. That means good sleep results in strengthening your immunity.

Research shows that probiotics are some of the best foods to boost immunity. Include regularly eating fermented and cultured foods that contain probiotics.

 Natural Strategies to Protect Against The Coronavirus & Flu

Flu symptoms you may have: such as fever, shortness of breath, and a cough.  There are natural strategies that you can use to best protect yourself from illness.
End of winter/beginning of spring is a time when your risk for flu is elevated.
Vitamin C has been utilized for both its preventive and healing properties. This is especially true in relation to viral illnesses. Daily consumption of the vitamin, whether through supplementation and/or diet, can ward off viruses and reduce the duration of illness.

When boosting your daily intake of vitamin C, it is also crucial to avoid excess sugar consumption. Not only is sugar bad for the immune system, but it can also deplete your body’s supply of vitamin C.

Therefore, when working to prevent the flu, coronavirus, and other viruses, be sure to skip the sweets whenever possible. Look for food-based vitamin C products or liposomal versions which can increase absorption.
Utilize Essential Oils
Essential oils have long been utilized for their strong antiviral properties. Multiple studies have even backed up this claim, revealing that specific essential oils can help prevent the flu and other viruses.

On top of helping the body fight off viruses, getting proper rest can help you recover much quicker if you do become ill.

Hydrate with Bone Broth
It has been estimated that as many as 75% of American adults experience chronic dehydration. With increasingly busy schedules, it can be a challenge to remember to drink enough water during the day. Unfortunately, chronic dehydration is a lifestyle factor that can put you at an even greater risk for developing viral illnesses.

In addition to drinking at least eight glasses of water, hydrate during the day with bone broth. Bone broth has the added benefit of containing minerals, which is an essential component of staying hydrated.

Warnings and Precautions with Hand Sanitizers
Using hand sanitizers multiple times a day hasn’t been proved more effective than hand washing. Stay away from excessive use of hand sanitizers.  Unless you are frequently in a hospital setting washing your hands with soap and warm water for 30 seconds is best, many hospitals and medical authorities agree.
