How Your Body Makes Blood
A typical human red blood cell only survives about 4-5 months. Your body is constantly producing new blood and releasing it into the bloodstream to do important work -- the work of carrying nutrients, hormones, water, chemical messages and even information throughout your body.

Blood is primarily made of three things: Red blood cells (oxygen carriers), white blood cells (immune function) and blood plasma (a liquid solution that carries everything else).

When more red blood cells are needed, your body (with its infinite healing wisdom) automatically generates new ones. Naturally, it must create those red blood cells using the materials that are available:

So if you ate a cheeseburger today and chased it with a large Coke, the blood cells your body generates today are going to be made, in part, of materials from that cheeseburger and Coke. If you think about where cheeseburgers really come from -- with all the cruelly slaughtered, hormone-injected animals, the ammonia-injected beef parts, the refined white flour in the bun, the processed cheese "food" substances, and so on, it's not exactly the kind of thing you probably want coursing through your veins for the next few months.
Bad blood leads to bad health results. It leads to angry, moody mental function and chronic disease. But good blood results in happy, healthy outcomes. Good blood improves your sleep, your sex, your moods and cognitive function. Good blood keeps your body free from cancer, youthful, energized and actively healing itself at multiple levels.
Healthy Blood Needs Healthy Fats
You must consume healthy fats in order to create healthy red blood cells.
This means consuming healthful omega-3 fatty acids. From the world of plants, healthful fats come from coconuts, avocados, flaxseed, Chia seeds and other similar sources. From the animal world, the best source is omega-3 fatty acids. The more healthful omega-3 fatty acids you take, the healthier your blood will be.

Consuming damaging fats will harm the health of your blood. Damaging fats include trans-fatty acids and fried fats (such as those used in fried foods). A trans fat is a normal fat molecule that has been twisted and deformed during a process called hydrogenation. During this process, liquid vegetable oil is heated and combined with hydrogen gas. Partially hydrogenating vegetable oils makes them more stable and less likely to spoil, which is very good for food manufacturers—and very bad for us!

Sources of trans fats include margarine and vegetable shortening, and both of those ingredients are used in a great deal of fast foods and commercially-prepared snack foods. Keep an eye out for “partially hydrogenated” oils on the ingredients list of the foods you buy. These are trans fats and should be avoided.

Making healthy blood also requires the right minerals. Red blood cells themselves need iron, but you'll want all the trace minerals, too, so they can be delivered by your blood to your cells. When you lack sufficient quantities of minerals like calcium, magnesium, zinc and selenium, biological functions start to go awry.

Healthy blood also needs plenty of water, of course. Water is the primary fluid of your blood plasma -- it's a solvent that can dissolve and transport all sorts of crucial building blocks for health including water-soluble vitamins like Vitamin C. Without adequate water, your blood turns to sludge blood -- sticky, gooey blood that your heart can't easily pump through your circulatory system. The forceful pumping required to push this blood through your system is frequently diagnosed as high blood pressure.
Food Which Can Purify Blood

Garlic is a natural blood purifier and an antibiotic. It reduces blood fats and controls blood pressure.

Drink fruit or vegetable juice everyday. Juices made from celery, bitter gourd, white grass and parsley act as an internal cleanser. Carrots, beet, apple and very commonly consumed lemon juice cleanse the intestines and kidneys.

Fasting is one of the traditional method of detoxification because the body starts extricating the noxious materials allowing easy purification of blood in the body. Fresh fruits like apple, pineapple, pear, kiwi, orange, melon, black current and raspberries are useful for cleansing the blood.
Drinking Herbal Teas to Purify the Blood
Prepare an herbal tea with dried echinacea root or herb by steeping 1 g to 2 g echinacea in 2 cups boiling water for 15 minutes. Strain and drink throughout the day. The tea can be stored in the refrigerator and heated before drinking.

Make an infusion by brewing a 1- to 3-inch piece of dried burdock root in 1 cup of boiling water for 15 minutes, removing the burdock root and allowing the liquid to cool, writes Jethro Kloss in his book, "Back to Eden." Drink the tea three times daily.

Mix the burdock root tea with the echinacea tea for an extra boost. Add a small dollop of honey to sweeten. Burdock root is known for its ability to purify the blood, clearing it of toxins, notes University of Maryland Medical Center.
When it comes to cleansing your body of harmful toxins, food really is the best medicine.
Cleanse the body’s detoxification organs like the liver, intestines, kidneys, and skin, preventing harmful toxic buildup. Help ward off the harmful effects of pollution, food additives, second-hand smoke, and other toxins with delicious fruits, vegetables, nuts, oils, and beans.

Apples. Because apples are high in pectin, a type of fiber that binds to cholesterol and heavy metals in the body, they help eliminate toxic build up and to cleanse the intestines.

Avocados. We rarely think of avocados as a cleansing food but these nutritional powerhouses lower cholesterol and dilate blood vessels while blocking artery-destroying toxicity. Avocados contain a nutrient called glutathione, which blocks at least thirty different carcinogens while helping the liver detoxify synthetic chemicals.

Beets. Time to whip up some delicious borscht soup since its main ingredient, beets, contain a unique mixture of natural plant compounds that make them superb blood purifiers and liver cleansers.

Blueberries. Truly one of the most powerful healing foods, blueberries contain natural aspirin that helps lessen the tissue-damaging effects of chronic inflammation, while lessening pain. Blueberries also act as antibiotics by blocking bacteria in the urinary tract, thereby helping to prevent infections. They also have antiviral properties and help to block toxins from crossing the blood-brain barrier to gain access to the delicate brain.

Cabbage. Cabbage contains numerous anticancer and antioxidant compounds and helps the liver break down excess hormones. Cabbage also cleanses the digestive tract and neutralizes some of the damaging compounds found in cigarette smoke (and second-hand smoke). It also strengthens the liver’s ability to detoxify.

Celery and Celery Seeds. Celery and celery seeds are excellent blood cleansers and contain many different anti-cancer compounds that help detoxify cancer cells from the body. Celery seeds contain over twenty anti-inflammatory substances. It is particularly good for detoxifying substances found in cigarette smoke.

Cranberries. Cleanse your body from harmful bacteria and viruses that may be lingering in your urinary tract with cranberries since they contain antibiotic and antiviral substances.

Flaxseeds and Flaxseed Oil. Loaded with essential fatty acids, particularly the Omega-3s, flaxseeds and flaxseed oil are essential for many cleansing functions throughout the body.

Garlic. Eat garlic to cleanse harmful bacteria, intestinal parasites and viruses from your body, especially from the blood and intestines. It also helps cleanse build-up from the arteries and has anti-cancer and antioxidant properties that help detoxify the body of harmful substances. The scents of certain essential oils have been found to be effective when it comes to boosting mood.
When we breathe in an aroma, the particles that make up the aroma are detected by the part of our brain that governs our emotions. Often, this has an instantaneous effect on our moods and emotions. Some experts tell us inhalation is the most direct route between the outside world and our brains.
Lemon essential oil. One of nature's cheeriest scents, lemon essential oil "reliably enhances positive mood," according to a 2008 study of 56 healthy men and women. After breathing in the citrus fragrance, study members had an increase in their levels of norepinephrine (a brain chemical involved in mood regulation).
Rosemary essential oil. Research published in Therapeutic Advances in Pharmacology suggests that participants exposed to the scent of rosemary oil reported feeling more content and that the longer the exposure the greater the reported boost in mood. To take advantage of these essential oils add a few drops to your daily bath, combine with a carrier oil and massage into your skin, or mix a few drops with half a cup of distilled water in a spray bottle and spray around your room like an air freshener.
Orange essential oil is considered sunny, refreshing and energizing, yet -- because of its familiarity -- comforting and relaxing. To heighten its refreshing qualities, it is often blended with lemon, bergamot, or grapefruit. To enhance its comforting aspects, it's combined with neroli, lavender or jasmine.
Grapefruit essential oil is bright and crisp and, like the other citrus oils, it's an astringent. Aromatherapists value its refreshing, cheering, and energizing effects. The sweet and familiar scent can evoke warm feelings and help release resentments and bottled emotions. Grapefruit blends well with lemon, palmarosa, bergamot, neroli, rosemary, cypress, lavender, and geranium.
Lavender essential oil has been shown in studies to help with depression and insomnia in college-age women.   It has also been shown to be helpful in treating anxiety disorder.
Peppermint essential oil. This is used to awaken the mind and heighten the senses. It is one of the best oils to boost energy, creativity and learning skills.
Jasmine - It is calming to the nerves and warming to the emotions, producing positive feelings of self confidence.
Helichrysum essential oil - my all time favorite! To calm your emotions, nervous system, reduce stress and boost relaxation.
Inhaling essential oils can help us attain a pleasurable emotional balance. A balanced emotional state in turn can have a therapeutic effect on physical problems, particularly those that are stress-related.
Make your own Blend

10 drops palmarosa essential oil (grassy and floral with a light citrusy note – good for creativity and lifting mind fog)
10 drops bergamot essential oil (fresh, woodsy, and slightly minty – good for concentration and clarity)
5 drops ginger essential oil (warm and spicy – good for memory retention and relieving stress and anxiety)

Foods
Greek yogurt is rich in calcium – a mineral responsible for releasing the feel-good neurotransmitters. Opt for organic Greek yogurt from cows raised on grass pastures to take full advantage of the mood-uplifting qualities of this food.
Asparagus is a rich source of tryptophan which helps to create serotonin (a feel good neurotransmitter). It is also rich in folate – a vitamin that 50% of individuals suffering from depression are deficient in.
Cherry tomatoes are rich in a phytonutrient known as lycopene which helps to stop the build-up of compounds that have been linked to depression. The lycopene is present in the skin of the tomato so cherry tomatoes offer a greater concentration of this nutrient. Opt for organic tomatoes if possible. Next time you need a little lift, don’t just “ride it out”, don’t reach for prescription medication, and instead try using these essential oils, or feel-good foods.
Depression has been linked to deficiencies in a number of nutrients, including Vitamin D, Omega 3 fatty acids (in fish oil), minerals, B vitamins, and antioxidants.  A good probiotic is also a must, as most of our body’s seratonin is actually produced in the gut!

Candida
Its job is to aid with digestion and nutrient absorption but, when overproduced, candida breaks down the wall of the intestine and penetrates the bloodstream, releasing toxic byproducts into your body and causing leaky gut, and many different health problems, ranging from digestive issues to depression.
How do you get candida overgrowth?
The healthy or ‘good’ bacteria in your gut typically keeps your Candida levels in check. However, the Candida population can get out of hand if:
  • a round of antibiotics kill too many of those friendly bacteria,
  • you have a diet high in refined carbohydrates and sugar (which feed the yeast),
  •  high alcohol intake,
  • are taking oral contraceptives
  • or any number of other factors including a high-stress lifestyle.
  • Even a diet high in beneficial fermented foods like Kombucha, sauerkraut and pickles, can feed Candida causing an overgrowth.
How does Candida get Established Systemically?
There is a single layer of cells between the bloodstream and the digestive waste products in our intestines.
When the intestines are inhabited with normal, healthy bacterial flora, this close proximity is not a problem. The powerful digestive immune system is designed to swiftly remove toxins when a threat to the body is detected. The more waste that accumulates from a poor diet, low-grade inflammation, and abnormal or pathogenic bacteria, become a problem as a result of waste accumulating in the intestines. It increases immune and autoimmune reactivity throughout the body

Initially, candida fungi are overgrown in the intestinal tract. There, the toxic waste they chemically produce (acetylaldahyde, the same chemical that causes a hangover), irritates and weakens the intestinal wall. Candida fungi have tiny "legs" which, as the intestinal wall becomes damaged, are able to "drill" holes in the intestinal wall, leading to poor digestion and "leaky gut syndrome".

These holes enable candida to travel throughout the body, over time establishing themselves systemically. They can colonize organs, your brain, any place that may have a weakened environment making it an easy target to colonize. Depending on where these weaknesses are, candida produces different symptoms as it colonizes different areas in each person.

As they don't need oxygen, they can move out of the circulation system to different spots in  the body.

Treating Candida
Getting rid of the Candida overgrowth primarily requires a change in diet to a low carbohydrate diet. Sugar is what feeds yeast, so eliminating sugar in all of its simple forms like candy, desserts, alcohol and flours. Reducing to only a few cups a day of the more complex carbohydrates such as grains, beans, fruit, bread, pasta, and potatoes will prevent the Candida from growing and eventually cause it to die. I would recommend eliminating all fermented foods as well.
Effectively treating candida involves stopping the yeast overgrowth, restoring the friendly bacteria that usually keep them in check, and healing your gut so that candida can no longer enter your bloodstream.

It has an expectorant action, which makes it easier to cough up the mucus that causes it to be so difficult to breathe; and is an antispasmodic that will reduce non-productive coughing and ease the coughing “spasms.” In addition, it has antimicrobial action, which, combined with the expectorant action that clears the lungs of mucus, can help to prevent developing an infection with the bronchitis. -
Sinusitis: Using 5 drops of eucalyptus essential oil to a tablespoon of carrier oil rub a small amount over the sinuses to reduce congestion and the chance of developing an infection. When using in this area, apply very lightly, and keep it well away from the eyes. -
Colds and flu:
In addition to the symptom relief listed above for bronchitis and sinusitis, eucalyptus essential oil helps to ease the aches and pains that come with colds and flu when the oil mixture is added to an epsom salt bath. Increase the amount of eucalyptus essential oil to 15 drops in a tablespoon of carrier oil, and add to a warm bath with two cups of epsom salt. (See the asthma warning at the end of the next paragraph before using this method.)
Another method of use for the respiratory problems listed above is to bring one and a half quarts of water to a boil, pour into a heatproof bowl, and add 3 drops of eucalyptus essential oil and 2 drops of peppermint essential oil. Keeping your face far enough away from the pot to prevent burning yourself with the steam, lean over the bowl and drape a large towel over your head and the bowl to create a “tent” that will hold in the steam. Breathe normally for up to 15 minutes, and repeat as needed. This is excellent for getting the oil into direct contact with any bacteria or viruses in your lungs or sinuses and breaking up congestion. (If you have asthma, use this method with extreme caution, especially if you tend to react to strong scents. Keep your emergency inhaler close by in case it’s needed, and make sure there is someone with you the first time you try it. Sniff the eucalyptus oil while it’s still in the bottle to see if it is an irritant. If there is no reaction, you can try the steam, but have your “safety person” ready to take the steaming water out of the house if it triggers an asthma attack.)

Eucalyptus Oil For Pain Relief

Muscle aches and pains or neuralgia: using the same mixtures as for respiratory issues, either rub the oil on the aching area, or take a warm bath with epsom salt and the oil blend. -
Headaches
: mix one tablespoon of carrier oil with 5 drops of eucalyptus essential oil. Apply a small amount to the temples, massaging in with a gentle circular motion and keeping well away from the eyes. Massage the remaining oil into the neck at the base of the skull. I would add a few drops of peppermint essential oil as well for a headache keeping well away from the eyes.
Poor circulation: Using 10 drops of eucalyptus oil per tablespoon of carrier oil, massage the area with long, firm strokes. Always massage toward the heart, lifting your hands away from your body and returning to the beginning area, not rubbing back and forth.

Eucalyptus Oil For Insects

- Bites: To ease the itching and irritation of insect bites, mix at the rate of 10 drops of eucalyptus oil to a tablespoon of carrier oil. Apply a drop or two of this mixture to bites, massaging in a circular motion and extending a bit past the bite itself. - Insect repellent: For this you will need Mix the oils in the spray bottle and shake well, then add the witch hazel and shake again. Spray on your body and clothes, being careful to keep it out of your eyes, nose and mouth. Reapply as needed, shaking well before each use.

Ingredients: Lavender, Geranium, Rosewood, Palmarosa, Ylang ylang, Rose Otto, Lemon, Bergamot, Jasmime, and Roman Chamomile.
You might consider Nite Cap blend Ingredients:Lavender, valerian, chamomile.
