is not only a time for

Create
homemade gifts for your family and friends.

Homemade
Sugar Scrub:
The sugar in this scrub gently exfoliates the
skin, the peppermint
oil provides a wonderfully cooling
sensation, and the oil moisturizes. Plus, the
citrus/peppermint combo is totally
invigorating-- it will definitely wake you up
first thing in the morning. This simple homemade
scrub is fabulous for gifts as well.
Instructions: Mix
sugar, oil, zest, and vegetable glycerin (if
using) together. Depending on what type of
oil you use, you may need to add more or
less to get the proper consistency. You are
looking for enough oil to make the sugar
stick together, but not so much that it is
floating on top. Gradually add in the
essential oils until you've reached the
desired scent. It may take more or less,
depending on the type of oils you use. Store
your sugar scrub in a glass container (check
thrift shops for cute glass bottles, or use
canning jars).
If giving it as a gift, decorate with
ribbon, stickers, or scrapbook paper. To
Use: Rub
a small amount of the scrub on your hands or
body, rinse with warm water.

Bath
Bombs are so Beneficial
Treat yourself and your family to natural and fun healing of
dry skin, sore muscles, and stiff joints while
enjoying a restful break from the hectic world
around you.
You will Need:
1 cup baking soda
3/4 cup citric acid
3/4 cup Epsom salts
2 tsp almond
oil
1 tsp grapeseed
oil
2 drops benzoin
essential oil
16 drops Fir
essential oil
10 drops pine
essential oil
Mister filled with water
Measure the baking soda, almond
oil, grapeseed
oil, and essential oils into a food
processor or blender, and blend until you have a
uniform mixture.
Transfer the baking soda mixture into a
large, wide bowl and whisk in the citric acid,
Epsom salts, until the mixture is uniform.
Now it’s time to add just enough liquid to get
the mixture to hold together in a mold. Not too
much, though, or it will react in the bowl/mold,
not in your bath. That’s why we’re using a
mister (it’ll spread the moisture better)
So, spread your mixture out in your bowl so you
have as much surface area as possible, and
spritz. Then quickly stir/whisk thoroughly.
Repeat until you can grab a clump of the mixture
and it will just hold together after a firm
squeeze.
Once the mixture will hold together, firmly pack
it into a mold of your choice (I like a ¼ cup
measuring cup), and then tap it out onto a sheet
of wax paper. Let dry overnight, turning once.
To use, drop in a hot bath and enjoy! This
recipe will make about 8 quarter-cup bath bombs.
Remember: You can use any
Essential oil of your choice:
- For children, I use Spearmint,
Orange

- For joints and achy muscles I love Antispasmodic

Coconut
body Butter
Your skin will absolutely adore this simple
whipped body butter made with natural,
nourishing ingredients. It’s decadently
moisturizing (without being greasy).
1/2 cup shea butter
1/4 cup coconut oil
1/4 cup sweet
almond oil (or grapeseed,
or any oil of your choice)
10-20 drops of essential oil : Good essential
oil options would be lavender,
bergamot,
frankincense,
geranium,
or orange.
But the sky’s the limit!
Instructions:
Combine all ingredients, except the essential
oils, in a small pot or double boiler.
Gently melt and stir over medium-low heat until
the mixture is liquid.
Remove from the heat and allow the mixture to
partially set up.
Once the mixture is partially set, add the
essential oils of your choice, and whip with a
hand mixer or stand mixer (my favorite stand
mixer) until the body butter is fluffy and stiff
peaks have formed.
Shea Butter is: a natural treatment for,
blemishes, wrinkles, itching, sunburns, small
skin wounds, psoriasis, eczama, skin allergies,
insect bite, frost bite, rich moisturizer.
Coconut oil is super beneficial for the skin as
well.
*Optional: I like to infuse the almond oil with
chamomile before using. You can use any herb of
your choice.
Homemade Hand
Cream
Ingredients:
1/4 cup shea butter
1/8 cup sweet
almond oil
1 tablespoon beeswax
10 drops myrrh
essential oil
10 drops cedarwood
essential oil
How to:
Melt the shea butter, beeswax, and sweet
almond oil together in a double boiler. (I
just use a Pyrex measuring cup and place it in a
pot of simmering water).
Stir the mixture as it melts.
Once everything is melted, remove it from the
heat and allow it to cool for 5-10 minutes.
Stir in the essential oils, and pour the liquid
hand cream into a small glass container. Allow
it to harden completely (this usually takes
several hours).
Apply this homemade hand cream recipe to your
dry hands as often as needed–especially after a
long day working outside or playing in the dirt.

Everyone
Loves an All Natural Lip Balm...
20 grams Beeswax (about 3 Tablespoons)
20 grams Cocoa Butter or Coconut Oil(about 2
Tablespoons)
45 grams sweet
almond oil (1/4 cup) you can use any oil
of your choice.
8 drops Vitaman E oil (4 vitamin E oil tablets
worth)
2 drops Rosemary
essential oil
12 drops Peppermint
essential oil
Pea-sized drop of Lanolin (don’t use much of
this or your balm will taste bad)
Step one – measure out all your ingredients
except essential oils into a cup or pan. I cut
open the little Vitamin E tablets and squeezed
the good stuff into the cup.
Next, melt all the ingredients, and stir. The
beeswax seemed to take the longest to melt, but
it was all melted within a couple of minutes.
Once it’s all melted, And cooled a bit, add your
essential oils and mix it up.
Use a dropper to add the melted goodness into
chapstick tubes. (If it cools too quickly before
you’re done filling your tubes, just pop it in
the microwave till it melts again.)
And your done, Ready to gift them to Friends and
Family!

Fungal Infection
Foot Soak
|
Eastern traditions claim that
toxins are effectively eliminated through the
feet. Regular foot baths can aid system detox,
address toenail infections and help you relax
without a deep soaking tub in the house.
Convenient, time saving, healthy and blissful!
|
To Start: Exfoliate your feet!
I make a simple scrub of epsom salt (for
magnesium supplementation), olive oil and
Epsom salt exfoliates and boosts magnesium
intake during the epsom salt foot soak to
follow. The essential oils listed above can get
the blood circulating and ease inflammation.
Regular foot soaks (or bath soaks, depending on
time and situation) with epsom salts to boost
magnesium and accelerate detox along with your
favorite detoxifying essential oils will allow
your body to sweat out waste products while you
relax. Adding essential oils will broaden the
scope of detox by working on many levels, as
physical toxins are removed; negative thoughts
and emotions are also released during this time.
|
Detoxifying Essential Oils:
Cypress
is diuretic, acting to tone the blood and
lymphatic vessels, and decongest the lymph.
Lemon stimulates
white blood cells to defend the body against
infection and is effective against viruses like
the flu. Detoxifies through the blood and liver.
Grapefruit
is diuretic, anti-fungal and speeds up lymphatic
circulation and the elimination of toxins.
Detoxifies through the skin, urinary tract,
liver, gall bladder and lymphatic system.
Copaiba Balsam
is antiseptic, anti-cancer and detoxifies
through the adrenal glands.
Juniper Berry
is anti-viral, diuretic, and can help reduce
cellulite by eliminating toxins from fatty
tissues and expel uric acid from the system.
Detoxifies through the kidneys, skin and urinary
tract.
Palmarosa
cleanses the digestive system at a cellular
level. Detoxifies through the nervous and
digestive systems.
Patchouli
is known by tradition to act on the glands to
detoxify skin and strengthen the immune system
through its profound stress relieving
properties.
Peppermint is
powerful against infections and their toxic
residues, but never use it in a bath or directly
on mucous membranes. Detoxifies through the
respiratory and digestive systems.
Rose
is gentle and so relaxing that it is said to
balance hormones and stimulate the immune system
solely through its action against stress and its
by-products.
Geranium
is antifungal, boosts circulation, balances
hormones in menopause, fights yeast while
protecting helpful bacteria. Detoxifies by
toning the liver, pancreas and spleen.
Rosemary
increases circulation, antifungal. Detoxifies
the respiratory system and clears mucous.

Foot
Soak How To:
- Fill wash tub with very warm water
- Add 1 Cup Milk – milk serves as an
emulsifier to prevent essential oils from
pooling on top of water and, it’s fat
content is great for your skin.
- Add 10 drops of desired detoxifying
essential oils
- Soak feet 20 minutes, pat dry, sleep well!
|
Unfortunately,
most conventional cleaning products are often
caustic and toxic with ingredients that can be
as harmful as the dirt and germs they are meant
to eliminate.
Nearly everyone has heard about the virtues of
common items such as baking soda and vinegar for
scouring and absorbing grease. Adding herbal
essential oils enhances a
formula’s cleaning value and leaves behind a
soothing, natural scent.
